Far beyond the realm of mortals lies the Underworld, a realm
of fire, brimstone and ash. The great rifts created by the
Shattering further separated this land from the prying eyes of
foolish adventure seekers who risked their very soul for the
chance to meet the Mistress of the Dark.

Following the Shattering, no entrances to the Underworld could
be found, and it was even rumoured that Hell itself had been
cleft in two by the forces that broke the Realm. To see
whether Satan had finally been slain the three great Furies
were sent forth from Olympus to discover the truth. They
reported an opening into the world had been found, and that
many of the lesser demons within had grown in strength during
the long months of imprisonment. After this report, the Furies
were not heard from again.

Since the rumours of an opening to the Underworld have been
confirmed, scores of worshipers have attempted the journey.
Rumour has it that a Warlock living in the Kontaur forest has
even devised a way to send adventure seekers and worshipers
alike to the upper reaches of Hell itself. Those that do be
warned, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

The Underworld is a big, dark, run [[mobile|mob]]-filled area. It's not for the inexperienced.

The Underworld is split into two main sections, Upper and Lower underworld with a vast rift separating the two. Upper underworld filled with minor demons and run mobs suitable for 2-4 players. Lower underworld on the other hand is tuned for larger more experienced run groups, with mobs such as [[Delphium]], [[Satan, Ruler of Hell]], [[Hurag]], and the three furies [[Alecto]], [[Megaera]] and [[Tisiphone]].

Satan and the Furies are considered one of the more difficult runs currently available as their deaths require not only a decent mass but also considerable preparation and logistics. It is almost certain that more secrets still lie in the depths of [[The Underworld]], yet to be discovered by valiant adventurers.

|description = At the southern end of the Realm, where little remains but the vast sand and gravel of the wastelands, rumours have surfaced of a find of great archaelogical curiosity. Once believed to be lost with the Shattering, the temple of Nae'trelle was rediscovered by a band of intrepid
explorers.

Little is known of what happened to the temple after the famous death of it's deity, Naetrelle. It is believed that few, if any, of her followers survived. Stories tell tales of madness and delirium overtaking the temple priests as
they fell into despair with the loss of their Goddess. The loss of innocence was profound and far reaching. Adventurers and treasure hunters would do well to use caution, or risk losing more than the purity of their souls.

At the southern end of the Realm, where little remains
but the vast sand and gravel of the wastelands, rumours
have surfaced of a find of great archaelogical curiosity.
Once believed to be lost with the Shattering, the temple
of Nae'trelle was rediscovered by a band of intrepid
explorers.

Little is known of what happened to the temple after the
famous death of it's deity, Naetrelle. It is believed that
few, if any, of her followers survived. Stories tell tales
of madness and delirium overtaking the temple priests as
they fell into despair with the loss of their Goddess. The
loss of innocence was profound and far reaching. Adventurers
and treasure hunters would do well to use caution, or risk
losing more than the purity of their souls.

== Description ==

Created by the priests of Nae'trelle, this statue is rumoured to have been
fashioned after the great Paladin Knight, Louvet. Once considered the greatest
of all the followers of Nae'trelle, his effigy was created to bring comfort to
those worried about the events of the world. Standing nearly 9 feet tall, he
is decked out in white armor, from head to toe. A tall, gleaming white shield
holds the only color to grace this solemn figure, by way of four colored laurel
leaves. The blue, red, yellow and green leaves circle the corners of the shield
and surround a simple phrase that runs down and across the shield in the form
of a holy symbol.

== Description ==

Catastrophe. That is the single best word to describe this thing mired in the
bottom of the pond. The face of a boar, with eight-inch tusks jutting from its
thick-lipped maw and fiery, blood-shot eyes stare back at you dispassionately.
A snake-like neck swivels the elongated head back and forth through the water
a good six feet from its bloated, buffalo-like body. Its long, club-like tail
thrashes through the water over its back, thrashing with enough force to knock
a man senseless if it were to connect. This creature doesn't look to be a
normal inhabitant of the pond. Chances are it fell down this hole and became
entrenched in the quagmire. Its great bulk suggests it has survived here on
those that have been unfortunate enough to find themselves near the pond.

== Notes ==

Make sure you have [[aqua breath]]. Cato will do damage to everyone in the room and [[gouge|gouges]] the [[tank]] a lot. Put any [[hitter|hitters]] in a lower [[style]] than the [[tank|tanks]]. Cato has an annoying [[stun]] prog that is like [[bash]], except it affects you for about 4rds. If you die at Cato, your corpse ends up in the room to his west. Any [[disarm|disarmed]] weapons become [[hidden]]. If you have five [[warrior|warriors]] with [[Nasr, Claymore of Sovereignty|Nasrs]] then that's all you'd need. He heals if you have one spring in the room, any more than one and he heals himself fully - it is rumoured that springs in some of the surrounding rooms affect this too. He is also rumored to heal if you [[flee]]. The only [[recall]] room is the one with Cato in it, obviously making it difficult to get out if he's still alive.

== Description ==

Shading your eyes and peering into the blinding light, you can almost
make out the huge form of this beast. Every scale on the monster's
massive body seems to reflect and refract the light from the bright
aura which surrounds it, and spray it across the room a hundredfold
times in brilliance.

== Notes ==

You can't get more than four people into the room while he's alive, because if you quit in there he boots you out. His lightning blast is an [[area attack]] which hurts a bit so chars other than the [[tank]] might need to bring [[heal|heals]]. Aside from the [[alignment|align]] issues, if you use an [[alignment|evil]] [[tank]] Gealcath will cast [[dispel evil]] on you. You're trapped in a [[norecall]] area, so you must say I yield to you to Gealcath, he will [[transfer|trans]] you back to [[New Darkhaven|DH]] (and damage you 100hp and one piece of eq).
