'''Dig''' can be used to uncover objects or entrances that are buried, regardless of whether they [[repopulation|reset]] that way or have been buried by another player using the [[bury]] command. If the player holds a [[:Category:Shovel|shovel]] in their inventory while they dig, the chances of succeeding become near-perfect. While regular digging can only occur where the ground is soft, digging in a specific direction/for an exit, can occur anywhere.

<pre>You can dig and bury items through the use of the dig skill and bury command. 
Buried items are not visible to players, even through the use of spells such 
as locate  object. To dig an item up, type dig with no arguments. Having a 
shovel raises your chance of success. If you dig in a direction, you will 
attempt to dig open an exit. 

To bury an item: Drop the item on the ground and bury <item>. Depending 
on the size and weight of the object, you might need a shovel.                

Items buried will not last beyond crash or reboot. Do not attempt to use 
this skill for storage of items you wish to keep.</pre>
