The Happy Death Orb

The tortured cries of countless dead echo from the center of the 
glowing blue orb.  An occasional crackle of blue lightning dances 
over its surface but never seems to affect the gleeful expression 
tattooed across the surface.

Notes/History

The Happy Death Orb is a teleporting mob created by Blodkai. It's believed the Orb's purpose is to molest people who log on more than 8 characters simultaneously. It has been known to attack such people. Typically, there was not just a single Happy Death Orb, but a multitude, all teleporting around simultaneously. An Orb was killed once by the Guild of Mages, who used suicidal hit-and-die tactics to slowly kill it. After this, measures seem to have been taken to make the Orb invincible. At one point, the Happy Death Orb was modified so instead of killing players, it would transport them to the Courtyard of Divine Worship, a treacherous norecall nosupplicate maze patrolled by a powerful mobinvis guardian.

The Happy Death Orb does not seem to terrorize the Realms any more these days. It seems to have been OOG for quite a few years now (needs confirmation).
