Aylssa

Aylssa is a longtime player of Realms of Despair who was honored in 2004 with the rank of Hero. If the order of the trophies in the Hero helpfile is any indicator, it would suggest she was the first Hero.

Early History

Aylssa is an incredibly ancient player and this author has no idea when she started. She was in the Order of Inconnu in the mid-to-late nineties, but later switched to the Order of Ascendere. As a member of Inconnu, she was among the earliest players privy to the secrets of Sin and Olsen in Scourge of Time. The s/o run may have been a factor in her decision to leave Inconnu, as she has alleged that another Inconnu member cheated her of a Darkfire blaster. Also while in Inconnu she was an early Merlin explorer, and may possibly have been among the first players to discover the path to Merlin.

House Bela Morte

At some point long ago, Aylssa founded an unofficial family, the Bela Morte family. The name translates as "beautiful death". It consisted, for the most part, of highly elite avatars, mostly from Guild of Druids, Order of Ascendere, and Order of Dragonslayer. A few scattered descendants retain the name today, of whom the most notable is Korith, but for the most part the family is extinct. The patriarch of Bela Morte, Aylssa's original husband, left Realms of Despair almost a decade ago and this author doesn't know his name.

Career in Ascendere

Aylssa joined Ascendere approximately August 2000 and quickly became involved in all the order activities, becoming order 2nd in January 2001.

Aylssa was a powerful member of Ascendere, not only in terms of running firepower, but also politically. She was a very close partner of Axius, the de-facto leader of the Order of Dragonslayers, and it's largely because of this that the two orders were closely united for a very long time. When Rathain retired, Aylssa took over leadership of the Ascendere Merlin run: a bigger job than it sounds, since it involved a staggering amount of logistic work.

Aylssa ascended to become the leader of Ascendere in November 2001 being only the 2nd leader of the order following its creation in November 98 with Covellia as the leader. She remained as leader till November 2004 when she was succeeded by Dargolith.

Immortality

After having served awhile as leader of Ascendere, Aylssa was immortalized for a period. During her time as an immortal she did extensive work play testing and helping tweak the barbarians class among other things. Aylssa departed from the game whilst still an immortal, retiring from the game entirely and commenting that she would not return, though some players continue to hold out hope that she may someday return.
