An enormous winged beast

Massive wings spin gusts of wind as a colossal feathered body glides through the air.

Description

Two massive trapezoidal wings stretch from a long and muscular body.  Windswept
feathers of various greys and whites flutter with each movement of the wings,
while two giant black eyes swivel back and forth inside a huge triangular head.
The tip of the massive tail seems to be similar in shape to the sharp, pointed
beak that occasionally opens and closes, briefly displaying a cylindrical black
tongue.

Notes

At first the beast is pacifist. First you need to get the reins from a lower part of the tree. (Zmud: #2 d;ne;break branch;get reins;sw;#2 u )

Find the beast and mount it. You can then attach reins beast, but only if you are not at the center of the canopy. This transes you to the skies region. The beast will fly in the direction opposite that you pull the reins in. Steer the beast close to the rocks to damage its wing, then through the opening. (Zmud: (with beast not at center) mount beast;attach reins beast;pull reins northwest;pull reins northeast;pull reins east;pull reins northwest;pull reins up ) If you have done this correctly, you should now be able to attack the beast, who now stays at the center.

Choke-flee it, using wimpy max, watch out for 500 hp rounds. Other than a gas cloud attack that hits for -4 CON all the attacks are physical so you can skip an Ice Girth and use another belt to up DR and HP. However, you can be hit by multiple instances of the gas, so your CON might go down by 8 or even 12. A problem here is that you cannot climb down the tree voluntarily, although with luck you can flee down.

When it dies, it pops an enormous bloody wing:

Attach the wing to the west statue at the beginning, this opens up a west exit. The room has a chest which holds a roll of feathery beige fabric. It is tunneled 1 and will close once you leave so don't leave without first taking the fabric.
