Description
Dionysus the "twice born" stands half a head shorter than most men. He wears festival attire for the moment, covering his muscular physique in brightly colored robes. A lopsided ivy wreath balances precariously on his head, slipping from side to side as he sways drunkenly. Wine splashing from his wineskin forms dark brown patches on a fawnskin thrown back over one shoulder. Tucked safely under the other arm is his thyrsus, a staff entwined with grape and ivy vines, crowned with a pine cone - representative of agriculture, wine and fertility. His loud baritone laugh, emanating from deep within his broad chest, demonstrates why he is also called "the thunderer." In his drunken state, the god appears quite harmless, but a mad sparkle in his ageless eyes hint of unrivaled wrath and primeval fury.
