Friar Bedevir sits down on his bed and lights his wooden pipe. Friar Bedevir says 'I grew up in a town several miles south of here, Old Thalos.' Friar Bedevir says 'When I was a boy, there was an old priest that lived in the town. I forget the man's name now.' Friar Bedevir says 'However, I recall him telling me tales about the mysteries and wonders of the Dragontail Glen.' Friar Bedevir says 'Rumour has it that this land once formed part of the base of Mount Athos to the north.' Friar Bedevir says 'The Glen, as it is now, was created many centuries ago by the great dragon, Zylandialtiara as' Friar Bedevir says 'she snaked down the mountain to drink from the pristine waters of Crystalmir Lake.' Friar Bedevir says 'Once her thirst was quenched, the Ancient Deep dragon flew south, never to be seen in these parts again.' Friar Bedevir smiles happily. Friar Bedevir says 'My good friend, Lorenz, tells me that remnants of her purple scales can still be found embedded' Friar Bedevir says 'within the rocks around the Glen.' Friar Bedevir wonders 'Would you like to know more?'
- You say 'yes'
Friar Bedevir says 'Early explorers noticed that the local barbarian tribe refused to hunt or camp in the area.' Friar Bedevir says 'The tribe's shamans spoke of a great evil spirit that lived within Mount Athos. The tribe was convinced the mountain was cursed.' Friar Bedevir takes a puff from his wooden pipe. Friar Bedevir says 'My brethren and I are devotees to the Goddess Adendra. ' Friar Bedevir says 'We have built a town in the Dragontail Glen. ' Friar Bedevir says 'We came to these lands to persuade the tribe to abandon their nomadic ways and devote themselves to Adendra.' Friar Bedevir says 'Unfortunately, we haven't had much luck. A number of strange happenings have set us back.' Friar Bedevir wonders 'Now that I come to think of it... You may be able to help us, Playername. Are you interested?'
- You say 'yes'
Friar Bedevir says 'Excellent. ' Friar Bedevir smiles at you. Friar Bedevir says 'My brethren are very suspicious of new people.' Friar Bedevir says 'You are going to have to work hard to prove yourself and your dedication to our people.' Friar Bedevir says 'If you come and visit me each day, I'll give you a task to complete. If you complete that task, it will increase your reputation within the town.' Friar Bedevir says 'If you purchase a diary from me, you could use it to help keep track of your reputation.'
