Description

Stretching southward from the Great Eastern Desert, lies the
immense wasteland known only as the Blasted Lands. Once a lush
forest of green filled with fierce warriors of Light, its
current state lies as a warning to the mortals of the Realms.
The city of Mistaniq and the surrounding forests were laid to
waste by the actions of the greedy ruler: the Pharaoh Ramases.
Offered eternal life in a dark pact with Vl'arescht in
exchange for the lives of his people, he became undead. Rains
of flame and acid fell from the sky, destroying the verdant
countryside until nothing was left but sand. Over the years,
many foolhardy adventurers seek fortune and power within the
dark domain, but most become forever lost within its deadly
terrain. Many foul things walk the lands but it is said that
the powers of light still have a tenuous foothold here.

With the coming of the Shattering, the lands adjacent have
fallen to the same fate as Mistaniq, though not for the same
reasons.  The land is lifeless and choked by sand as the
Desert of Despair crept inches beyond its border.

Notes

Blasted Lands is a fairly dangerous area filled with lots of interesting things. There's some great runs, decent gold and good levelling mobs too. And desert mazes. Lots and lots of desert.

• The important thing to remember when heading into BL is that there is a limited number of ways to recall. You can only recall from Isis if you're devout, but you can always mount Bahamut or portal out from the fabric dealer or fight your way up to Thoth and solve his riddle.

Plenty of run mobs, including Bahamut, Gr'staka, Horus, Ra, Lord of the Sun, Set, the True Lord of Darkness and Thoth - to name a few.

Within the Blasted Lands, the Lord of the Undead sends the departed on their
way to the afterlife. Alas, not all who leave these realms find the eternal
silence they yearn for. Adventurers who visit the Blasted Lands looking for
changes will be able to uncover a new, mortal-submitted addition.
