== Definition ==

An '''IP Check''' is when the game checks how many characters are logged into the mud from your connection - essentially, to what degree you are [[Multiplay|multiplaying]]. The [[mobile|mob]] or room will probably then act differently depending on the result of the IP check.

If you have two characters link-live, then you are termed to be 'IP2', for three you are IP3 and so on.

== Examples ==

You can only enter the [[Village of Edo]] if you are IP1.
If you fight [[Brakkum]] at higher than IP2, he will do more damage.
You need to be IP1 to fight [[the ghost of Lord Kahl]] or he'll kick you out of his room.
If you're higher than IP1 in [[Lake of Tich'Pyga]], the Undertow [[trans room]] won't work.
