What seems to be a massive diamond-shaped boulder protrudes from the cavern wall.

Information

  • Area: The Barren Wastes
  • Status: Neutral
  • Alignment: Neutral
  • Race: Titan
  • Class: Warrior
  • Level Range: 50-55
  • Affected By: None (casts sanctuary soon into the fight)

Description

This diamond-shaped object appears to be an oddly smooth stone,
flecks of moisture glinting in the dim light. The stone, however,
seems to contain long and organized cracks running throughout the
surface, creating small triangle shapes in a pattern that seems too
formulaic to have been randomly formed by the cracking of stone due
to old age.

Notes

First you need to have a Ranger. Attack it until the ranger is swallowed, then find and kill the heart of a giant serpent. You should try to leave the heart on almost dead and then wait for repop, so that you can kill the heart just after repop, and have the whole repop to kill the head. You must kill it before the heart repops, or the heart will instantly heal it back to full as long as you're in its room.

Once the heart is dead, choke-flee the head, using wimpy max, watch out for 500 hp rounds.

It casts sanctuary on itself early in the fight. Melee hits it well. It uses acid quite a lot, and occasionally does acid breath. Make sure you have acidward/ice girth, as it can etch gear. It switches tanks if you're killing it with a friend.

When it dies, it pops a hefty fang:

You wound The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent!
The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent is DEAD!!
As the head of the serpent crashes to the stone floor, one of its fangs cracks and splits from its root.
The ground quakes as a piercing screech resounds throughout the area.
The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent splatters blood on your armor.
You see nothing like that in the corpse of The diamond-shaped head of a giant serpent.
The corpse of an enormous winged beast holds:
     a hefty fang

Recall from its room. Attach the fang to the northwest statue at the beginning, this opens up a northwest exit. The room has a chest which holds a small hide of brown scales. It is tunneled 1 and will close once you leave so don't leave without first taking the hide.
