These remnants of the base of a large altar look to have been badly damaged by thieves, as though someone were frustrated and took their temper out on it. Deep gouges and grooves dot the once fine looking altar base, which takes on the appearance of a large upside-down 'V'.

connect top base You bend down and struggle to lift the top of the altar on to its base. As you place the top and base sections of the altar together, they appear to connect as if by magic.
