  • Check if the merchant has anything to sell. Does not always sell things.
A merchant says to you, 'I have nothing for sale. I'm just heading home.'
A merchant whispers to you 'I have an amythyst monkey. Yes, with 'y's, it's foreign. give me 150000 coins and it's yours.'
A merchant whispers to you 'And just forget where you got it from, okay? It's worth more than that, I want to be rid of it.'
A merchant whispers to you 'I don't like doing business outside of my established cities, but I also don't want to end up stuck with jewels and attracting bandits in the mountains.'
A merchant whispers to you 'Just give me the 150000 coins and I'll give you the carving. Or let's just walk away.'
You give 150,000 coins to a merchant.
A merchant thanks you heartily.
A merchant gives you an amythyst monkey.

  • Sometimes when you pet mule while visible:
You gently pet an old mule.
An old mule pets you.
A merchant smiles at you.
A merchant sits down.
The merchant begs you 'Could you help me? I have lost a book. It is very important to me.'
If you could help me, I will try to make it worth your time.
The merchant says 'Please tell me "Yes".'
You can feel the hungry beast's skeleton beneath its thin skin.
You tell a merchant 'yes'
A merchant says to you, 'Thank you, Playername. I would surely die if I went back. I'm sure you will be okay if you are careful.'
A merchant says to you, 'I lost it when I fell into a hidden pit in the eastern forest there in Transylvania.'
A merchant says to you, 'The beast in there was vicious. He closed me in and so nearly killed me.'
A merchant says to you, 'He must have my book, down in that Grimy Lair of his. Please get it from him and bring it to me.'
A merchant says to you, 'I don't know what I can do to make it worth your while, but I promise I'll do everything I can.'

A merchant says to you, 'The book is my book of sales deliveries. I can't survive without it. I'll wait here.'
A merchant lies back and sprawls out to rest.

A merchant says to you, 'Good luck, Playername.'
You give a merchant's book of sales to a merchant.
A merchant thinks, 'Hmmmm.'
A merchant smiles happily.
A merchant exclaims 'That's it!'

A merchant gives you 1,000,000 coins.
A merchant says to you, 'I don't have a lot of gold left, but you can have this.'
A merchant gives you Playername's bar of pure mithril.
A merchant says to you, 'The co-op gave me that in trade for some supplies. It is yours now.'
You tell Bugelii the blacksmith 'mithril'
Bugelii the blacksmith tells you 'Mithril, eh? No, I don't think so. You'd maybe want to ask an elven blacksmith about that. Or even a...'
Bugelii quietly says to you 'a drow...'
Bugelii the blacksmith tells you 'Maybe see that foreign trader Fidalstix about it. I know he does some business with the...'
Bugelii glances around the room nervously.
Bugelii the blacksmith tells you 'With other cultures.'
  • Talk to Fidalstix when he is in upstairs room in "The Pick and Payload":
You say 'mithril'
Fidalstix tells you 'That bar is remarkably valuable, yes.'
Fidalstix tells you 'That treasure of yours is worth a fortune. I haven't anything valuable enough to trade you for it.'
Fidalstix tells you 'However. If you will give it to me, I'll take it to the Drow armourers that make the finest royal pieces. They'll surely give me excellent trade. I'll bring back the best item of the trade for you.'
Fidalstix tells you 'My fee will be the other items from the barter? Just give me the bar if you want to see what we can get for it.'
You give Playername's bar of pure mithril to Fidalstix.
Fidalstix examines mithril
Fidalstix tells you 'Thank you. I'll take it to the drow smiths. Next time I'm through town I'll have something for you.'
Fidalstix tells you 'This is such a good business deal, I'll make haste and start the journey right now.'
Fidalstix tells you 'See you soon. Don't worry, I'll be back through Edel as soon as I can.'
Fidalstix grabs his pack and leaves.
