Prestige Beta
Generic stuff
This is a copy of my write up, from the beta period, to keep DS up to date on what was going on. I leave it to others to merge this info into the Prestige page and then feel free to delete it.
Goes without saying, but everything is in a state of flux still, just because it was in the beta it may or may not be here. Things can change without notice. Bla bla bla...
Experience/Leveling
- Ip leveling was made mudwide for remorts, no longer just room based.
- 1.5x the experience needed of the sub-class to av
- Thief/Warrior needed 202,950,776 xp.
- Warrior/Thief needed 132,383,639 xp.
- Vampire/Vampire needed 264,722,739 xp.
- About 1/7th the rate of experience gained per hit.
The goal seems to be around 2 weeks for a standard remort.
Class/Race info
Multi-Class Only: Mage, Cleric, Thief, Warrior, Druid.
- No Mage/Mage, just Mage/Cleric or Mage/Thief and so on.
- Only primary class will get access to path/cleric stuff.
Prestige class: Everything else. Vamp/Vamp only, for example.
For multi chars, race is relevant to the sub class. My half-orc thief, was only able to take a sub class of warrior because of race restrictions.
Stat Changes
The sub class increases a max stat by one, based on their primary stat.
- Thief/Warrior will have 21 str, everything else will remain the same.
- Warrior/Thief will have 23 dex.
- Mage/Druid will have 23wis.
- Vampire/Vampire will have 26 dex.
So on, and so forth.
Skill Options
Four options for skills.
- Multi
- In game, from sub class.
- New, Multi only.
- Prestige
- Improve Existing
- New, Prestige only
Skills
When a skill is flagged multi-class a few things happen.
- The sub class gives new skills, at 80% adept values.
- If both classes have a skill, at different levels, and different %'s, it should be lowest level, highest adept percent.
- Every combination that includes that secondary class will get it. So if virtue was made multi class. All cleric sub class chars would get it. Mage/Cleric, Warrior/Cleric, and so on.
- Sub classes will get a degraded version of skills. Slightly slower attacks(20% i seem to recall), and possibly reduced damage(Circle was mentioned)
- Warrior attack skills were given a prestige bonus on the test server.
- Primary class warriors get enhanced punt, shoulder, lunge, blitz, and smash.
- Sub classes will get the degraded versions.
EQ
Zist was playing around with this stuff. Big things to note are
- Eq can be prestige restricted.
- Eq can have additional stats If prestiged.
