As you look more closely, you notice that it is in superb condition.

Notes

The key is found on the corpse of a Lizardman Officer that is 2d, 1w from "The Peat Mound" where you have to dig down.

The key is used to open the soldier's footlocker 2e of the room you have to climb to on your way to and from Chief Kilgore and Garsnagg. Be careful when entering the room with the footlocker, there are usually 2 aggro officers there.
