Description/Exam

A brilliant white light shines from within this perfectly formed crystal,
illuminating the darkness of the Realm.

Notes

-Say "I will destroy the darkness" to Mother Superior 

-Kill 10 casket corpses, you have roughly 4 hours to do this 
-You can then either recall out of the area and walk back to the Edificium Caritas, or head for the room named "A Wet, Musty Smelling Tomb" where you can dig 
up to open an exit into the well. Open up from the well, then head back to the Edificium Caritas and visit Mother Superior, where she'll give you 40k 
experience for completing the task, as well as the light. 
-Takes hits like a sigil or Legba light 
-Tagged to the char that completes the quest 
-Repairable at Bugelii in Edel or Karl in KotR (repair crystal after you finish repairing all) 
-Doesn't regen so make sure to keep it repaired (can take upwards of 5 hits though) 




Talk to Mother Superior to obtain the quest.
You say 'Abbey'
Mother Superior nods solemnly.
Mother Superior says 'This Abbey was founded in the weeks following the Shattering. Dark days they 
were, but it is when darkness is at its peak that the light must shine through. Duke Luther charged 
us with a tremendous responsibility...'
Mother Superior says 'You must understand the devastation reaped upon the Realm was tremendous. 
Owing to the fact that the last battle was held within a city of light, there was no alternative... 
the remains had to be protected.'

You say 'remains'
Mother Superior sighs loudly.
Mother Superior says 'It grieves my heart terribly to think of all those who were lost that day. 
The clean up of the remains of those who fought the last battle took weeks..'
Mother Superior says 'It was during this time we were shocked to discover the cost with which we 
would pay for Pseulak's curse upon the Realm.'

You say 'Pseulak'
Mother Superior says 'Well, though I dread telling the tale, it is a burden that we must bear as 
the witnesses to this atrocity. A great and terrible curse was laid upon all who died that day, 
ensuring that the wickedness of the deity slayers lived on.'
Mother Superior says 'Ask me about the deity slayers and I will relay what I know of the tale...'

You say 'deity slayers'
Mother Superior says 'No one knows where they came from, but come they did. Using deception, deceit 
and sheer force, they manipulated the people of the Realm, and the Gods who once shone for us, may 
the memory of their majesty never fade...'

Mother Superior sighs loudly.
Mother Superior says 'One by one the Deities were destroyed... some due to their own foolishness, 
others as a result of actions beyond their control.'
Mother Superior says 'In the last battle before the world shattered, Cabal Kinslayer, as he is now 
known, was deceived by Pseulak into killing off the last of his brethren. The madness within him 
swelled and destroyed the town of New Thalos.'
Mother Superior says 'In the battle that followed, many within the town of New Darkhaven were also 
killed.'

Mother Superior says 'Before Pseulak departed, a powerful curse was laid upon the corpses of all 
those in the Realm, forever shrouding them in darkness. It is this attrocity that caused this Abbey 
to be formed.'
Mother Superior says 'Within our Cathedral of Light lies a large tomb, we call it the quadrangle. 
The Cathedral was actually built around this tomb, to house the evil within. We are in a state of 
constant vigilance to ensure that this evil is not unleashed.'
Mother Superior says 'Ask me about the tomb if you wish to know more.'

You say 'tomb'
Mother Superior says 'Well, the tomb was created after the shattering to store the corpses of those 
who died in battle. Due to the curse that Pseulak placed upon them, they would not deteriorate and 
began re-animating.'

Mother Superior says 'They were lifeless shells bent on destruction, so they were entombed within 
thick caskets and buried deep beneath the earth. Within many of the caskets traps were placed to 
thwart thieves bent on plundering the tombs.'

Mother Superior says 'There was a magical charm placed upon the tomb entrance as well, ensuring 
that none but the sisters of the Abbey could gain entry.'

Mother Superior says 'I would warn you about trying to gain entry, but we may have need of your 
services... I have a proposal for you if you are interested.'

You say 'proposal'
Mother Superior smiles at you.
Mother Superior says 'If you would take on the risk of destroying these creatures, once and for 
all, I would reward you for your services. If you are interested simply state 'I will destroy the 
darkness' and I shall tell you how to get to the tombs.'

You say 'I will destroy the darkness'
Mother Superior smiles at you.
Mother Superior says 'You will first need to gain entrance to the tombs. West of the altar in the 
Cathedral is a room, and within that room is a secret room. You will need to retrieve the crystal 
that we hold there for safe keeping.

Mother Superior says 'This crystal should be taken to the northern portion of the quadrangle and 
placed within a key hole. As most of the tombs are still buried, it would be advisable to bring a 
shovel. Remember to disarm the traps on the caskets...

Mother Superior says 'It will be hard work, and not without some danger, but I'm confident in your 
ability to aid us.'

Mother Superior says 'May the light protect you, Playername'
  • You must kill 10 casket corpses in the catacombs to get it.
Power surges through you as you feel the Darkness within the tombs ebb. You sense your task to rid
the tombs of their evil is complete.

Return to Mother Superior and she will give you the white crystal of blessing. 

You have completed the quest to cleanse the tombs!
