Corsterix the Blessed
Information
- Area: The King's Castle
- Status: Neutral
- Alignment: Devout
Description
A famous bard, his name escapes you at the time, once wrote of the king- "His face a visage of true nobility if ever there was one that could truthfully make such a claim, a glance from this the most august of men is worth a thousand coins of pure gold. In truth, were I to be given a choice of a single gift, to be bestowed 'pon me on my death, it would be to spend a mere instant in this man's great presence". While this mindless adulation at first seemed almost fawning and pathetic, it is now almost understandable; the man standing here seems to be a mortal- certainly he is of only average height and appearance- yet at the same time seems to be so much more than that. The mark of true nobility is certainly present here.

Notes
Warriors with Nasrs are great for Corst, mages are good and thieves are okay. You should be able to tank him with a thief but you can use two rescuing warriors if you want to be careful. With mages using paradox, attack and kill one of the hands and then the other, then style up and move on to Corsterix. Spell down both the hands and Corst with razorbait (and swordbait if using warriors), ethereal funnel and faerie fire. Corsterix is susceptible to immobilize and this makes the fight much easier. If immobilize is not hitting then further spelldown Corsterix with ill fortune, petrification, kleshas, and mental anguish and possibly have a Nasr equipped Ranger using Wasp talon. Thieves should circle and mages should use quantum spike. Corsterix heals if you hit him with paradox flux, sometimes when you circle him and also if you happen to use the tango social on him.
Alternate Run Notes
This method requires two repops per kill, but is significantly cheaper and easier.
- Using barbarians, choke flee the hands to DYING and wait for repop.
- At repop, kills the hands (choke flee)
- Be sure to allow time for the area to actually repop, ~2 minutes after the repop message
- Log on your immober, ranger, nephandi, cleric, tank(s), and hitters
- Warriors or Rangers wielding a Nasr are preferred for this method, but any hitter will do
- Initiate combat
- One character at a time, spell down Corsterix with ill fortune, lethargy, unravel defense, swordbait, razorbait, petrification, mental anguish and kleshas. Ranger begins using wasp talon.
- It is generally preferred to have whoever is immobing also do the cleric and nephandi spelldowns, but they need to remain ip1
- Begin immobing
- One character at a time, spell down Corsterix with ill fortune, lethargy, unravel defense, swordbait, razorbait, petrification, mental anguish and kleshas. Ranger begins using wasp talon.
- Win! Now wait for repop and repeat.
