Dig can be used to uncover objects or entrances that are buried, regardless of whether they reset that way or have been buried by another player using the bury command. If the player holds a shovel in their inventory while they dig, the chances of succeeding become near-perfect. While regular digging can only occur where the ground is soft, digging in a specific direction/for an exit, can occur anywhere.
